13 new Covid-19 clusters, 10 at workplaces, including one in Lahad Datu service centre

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected 13 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, he said 10 were workplace clusters, two community clusters and one high-risk cluster, FMT reported.

The clusters were detected in Johor, Selangor, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu.

Five clusters were detected in Johor, and two each in Sarawak, Terengganu and Selangor. Kuala Lumpur and Sabah reported one cluster each.

Selangor:

- Kompleks Perabut – a workplace cluster in Kuala Langat. The first few cases tested positive today after a targeted screening of factory workers in BantingSome 287 people were screened, 21 of whom tested positive.

- Jalan Sementa – a workplace cluster in Petaling. The first few cases tested positive on Feb 17 after a targeted screening of factory workers in Shah AlamTo date, 115 people have been screened, with 12 testing positive.

Johor:

- Jalan Murni 12 – a workplace cluster in Kulai. The first few cases tested positive today after a targeted screening of factory workers in Senai. Some 3,584 people were screened, 339 of whom tested positive.

- Jalan Kota Murni – a workplace cluster in Batu Pahat. The first few cases tested positive today after a targeted screening of employees at a services company at Taman Industri Kot Murni. To date, 27 people have been screened, with 12 testing positive.

- Jalan Indah Utama – a workplace cluster involving Kulai, Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi. The index case tested positive on Feb 15 after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves employees at an accommodation centre in Kulai. Some 38 people were screened, 23 of whom tested positive.

- Jalan Tun Mutahir – a workplace cluster in Kota Tinggi. The index case tested positive on Feb 16 after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves factory workers in the Bandar Tenggara industrial zone. To date, 124 people have been screened, with seven testing positive.

- Parit Haji Khamis – a workplace cluster in Batu Pahat. The index case tested positive on Feb 9 after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves factory workers in the Simpang Kanan subdistrict. Some 54 people were screened, nine of whom tested positive

Sarawak:

- Kejatau – a workplace cluster in Sri Aman. The index case tested positive today after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves an administrative centre in Jalan Kejatau, To date, 92 people have been screened, with seven testing positive.

- Jalan Green – a community cluster in KuchingThe two index cases tested positive on Feb 17 following a screening of detainees. The cluster involves a gathering in Jalan Green. Some 148 people were screened, six of whom tested positive.

Kuala Lumpur:

- Jalan Kuchai – a workplace cluster in Lembah PantaiThe first few cases tested positive today after a targeted screening of factory workers in Jalan Kuchai Lama. To date, 365 people have been screened, with 14 testing positive.

Sabah:

- Singgahmata – a workplace cluster in Lahad DatuThe index case tested positive on Feb 13 after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves a services centre in Jalan Singgahmata. Some 77 people were screened, 11 of whom tested positive.

Terengganu:

- Bukit Petiti – a community cluster involving Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and DungunThe index case tested positive on Feb 16 after a symptomatic screeningThe cluster involves the family members and close contact to the index case who resides in Manir, Kuala TerengganuTo date, 40 people have been screened, with 15 testing positive.

- Kubang Jambu – a high-risk cluster involving Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, and MarangThe index case tested positive on Feb 15 after a symptomatic screening. The cluster involves a medical centre in Kuala Terengganu. Some 69 people were screened, seven of whom tested positive.
