Tuaran: Six units of quarters erected in the 1980s that housed five families of Tuaran hospital staff here were razed at 1.40am, Friday.Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar when contacted said a distress call prompted a search and rescue operation where 15 personnel along with two firetrucks were deployed.

“Upon arrival, the firemen found all six semi-permanent structures were on fire. The entire operation ended at 4.57am,” he said. Abdul Qawie said of the six quarters, only five were occupied. No one was trapped nor injured.
