Ex-Perak MB to lead GE15 seat talks for Perikatan Nasional
Ahmad Faizal Azumu also confirmed that he was beng considered for the job as KTMB chairman but had not decided on taking up the offer.

IPOH: Former Perak menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu will lead seat negotiations for Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the next general election (GE15).

The PPBM deputy president said this was decided by PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also prime minister.

Speaking to reporters after the launch of a service centre in Kampung Simee here today, Faizal said all PN parties had the right to state their interests in contesting any seat.

He refuted claims that PPBM was trying to dominate seat allocations and added that the party had yet to discuss any seat with Umno.

“If there are claims that PPBM wants too many seats, this is not true because discussions have not even begun,” he said, adding PPBM had no issues discussing seats with any party.

Separately, Faizal confirmed he was being considered for the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) chairman’s post although he has yet to decide on taking it.

Faizal, who was ousted as Perak menteri besar during a vote of confidence at the state assembly on Dec 4 last year, said he wanted to discuss the matter with Muhyiddin first.

“Personally, at this point in time, I want to focus more on political work, getting PPBM ready for the coming election.”
