Kota Kinabalu: A 48-year-old jobless man was fined RM1,000 or three months’ jail for trespassing into a quarry site.
Magistrate Lovely Natashah Charles meted out the sentence to Aman Shah Hussin who pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
Aman had entered the site without any permission at 11.50pm on Feb 6 this year at Teluk Sepanggar Quarry Sdn Bhd, Jalan Sepanggar in Manggatal.
He went to the area with the purpose to steal items such as zinc sheets, motor welding machine and ladder cable that belonged to a company.
The offence under Section 447 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to six months, or a fine of up to RM3,000, or both, on conviction.
