Jobless man fined RM1,000 for trespassing into quarry

Kota Kinabalu: A 48-year-old jobless man was fined RM1,000 or three months’ jail for trespassing into a quarry site.

Magistrate Lovely Natashah Charles meted out the sentence to Aman Shah Hussin who pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

Aman had entered the site without any permission at 11.50pm on Feb 6 this year at Teluk Sepanggar Quarry Sdn Bhd, Jalan Sepanggar in Manggatal.

He went to the area with the purpose to steal items such as zinc sheets, motor welding machine and ladder cable that belonged to a company.

During mitigation, Aman who was not represented asked for leniency.

However, Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence.

The court ordered for Alan’s bail to be refunded.
