Barter trade: Kumpits allowed
Kota Kinabalu: The new GRS Sabah Government has decided to allow the use of kumpits (traditional wooden barter trade boats) or known as non-conventional ship (NCS) in barter trader and transhipment activities from Sabah to the Philippines and Indonesia, and vice-versa, starting this Friday (March 5).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor (pic)  said such decision was agreed upon after going through evaluation and consideration from Federal and State Government agencies in Sabah through the Sabah State Security Working Committee (JKKN) No. 3/2021 which met Tuesday.
