Sandakan estate manager charged

SANDAKAN: A 39-year-old plantation manager was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Monday on suspicion of misusing farm workers' funds amounting to about RM20,000 in 2018.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The suspect was arrested at 9am at the Sandakan MACC office. According to sources, the money was withdrawn at a bank by the suspect through six cheques.

Sabah MACC Director, Karunanithy Y. Subbiah said the suspect is being investigated under Section 405 of the Penal Code. He released on MACC bail of RM5,000 with one surety.
