Kota Kinabalu: The Armed Forces on Thursday launched its 601 Squadron Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to enhance the navy’s ability to carry out Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) missions in Malaysian waters as well as increase Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA). Chief of Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza Mohd Sany, said Squadron 601 made history as the first such when officiating it at the Kota Kinabalu Naval Air Base.
“I hope this new inclusion will put RMN as a benchmark and reference to future UAS operations.
