Kota Kinabalu: In eight survey findings by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), an international non-profit organisation that helps companies and cities disclose their environmental impact, under its “Financial Services Climate Change and Forests Pilot Results 2020,” it found that global and Asean based lender banks are now more sensitive to issues of deforestation and its impact on climate change, as banks are aware that climate change and forests loss issues have potential to impact their business.
The pilot project was geographically focused on Southeast Asia as the region accounts for almost 15 per cent of the earth’s tropical forests and is a global forest-commodities producer.
