Kota Kinabalu: Security monitoring in Sabah waters received a further boost with the arrival of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s AS 555 SN Fennec helicopter at Sepanggar Naval Base from the Western Fleet Command Headquarters onboard KD Mahawangsa on March 7.

“The use of air assets such as helicopters is very efficient in curbing the entry of illegal Immigrants by sea, smuggling of basic goods and intrusion of foreign fishermen into Sabah waters,” said Eastern Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri Zali, in a statement, Monday.
