169 vagrants, illegals held in KK
Those rounded up during the operation.
Kota Kinabalu: Some 169 people were rounded up during the four-day Ops Bangau integrated operation by the City Hall, Immigration Department and Rela in an effort to eradicate the city of vagrants and illegal immigrants. The operation which ended on March 7 was carried out in areas involving Sembulan and Inanam.

 Those rounded up comprised 43 men, 51 women, 27 boys, 32 girls, 11 baby boys and five baby girls.
 “From the 169 detained, one was released on the advice of the Immigration Department, and two homeless citizens will be handed over to the Welfare Services Department,” said Mayor Noorliza Awang Alip, in a statement, here, Sunday.
