Kota Kinabalu: Amid speculation of elected representatives from the opposition switching allegiance to political rivals and infighting among themselves, Warisan Plus parties have all agreed to stay united, says Sabah DAP.
Its secretary Chan Foong Hin, who is also Kota Kinabalu MP, said the coalition parties – comprising Warisan, DAP, PKR, Amanah and Upko – made the resolution at a meeting today.
“Among the issues discussed was how to make Warisan Plus a more structured coalition,” he said in a statement today.
“We all agree that the answer is to stay united. Unity is the value that has to be upheld by all component parties within Warisan Plus.”
The secretaries of the respective parties attended the meeting,
FMT reported.
Chan said Sabah DAP was committed to upholding unity and mutual cooperation among the component parties in view of the upcoming general election (GE15).
He added that his party was also committed to alliance building in preparation for GE15 which may be called at any time.
“Opposition parties in the state should put focus on alliance building. It is important to build a broader political coalition nationwide and not to limit ourselves to Pakatan Harapan alone,” he said.
