Police report now required to register home births, deaths
Kota Kinabalu: Births and deaths which occur at home (not in hospitals or clinics) are required to be reported to the police prior to registration at the National Registration Department (NRD).

Sabah NRD Director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin (pic), in a statement Thursday, said this is part of their updated and improved birth and death registration procedure that must be complied with.

“Under the new procedure, informants have to bring the police report and registration form (Borang A) to do the registration at the nearest NRD office,” he said.

Previously, a police report was not required for all births and deaths that took place at home.
