Kota Kinabalu: There is a need to integrate both ecological and human dimensions to promote a more harmonious human-elephant coexistence as an effort to conserve the endangered species, the Management and Ecology of Malaysian Elephants (Meme) suggests.An eight-year research conducted by conservationists at Meme, in collaboration with the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan), showed that human-elephant conflict (HEC) requires a more holistic approach that does not rely on elephant translocation.
