Kuala Lumpur: An Airbus H125 helicopter crashed at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang Wednesday morning, injuring two of the five people on board.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Director Norazam Khamis said the department received the emergency call at 9.47am.
He said one victim suffered a broken leg and a head injury while the other had injuries on the leg.
The other three victims escaped unhurt, he added.
“The helicopter did not catch fire,” he said when contacted.
Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the helicopter crashed at the airport compound.
He said all the victims were taken to the hospital for further treatment
“The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is investigating the cause of the incident,” he said when contacted.
Meanwhile, in PUTRAJAYA, the Transport Ministry said in a statement that the safety investigation would be conducted by the AAIB in accordance with Part XXVI Civil Aviation Regulations 2016.
It said the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that the Airbus Helicopter AS350 B3 had crashed at the airport at 9.25am.
The helicopter, operated by Leopad Aviation Sdn Bhd, had departed Sungai Lembing, Pahang at 8.30am on a private flight to Subang via Maran, Temerloh, Karak and Batu Caves, with one pilot and four passengers on board.
According to the statement, two people are reportedly injured and are currently receiving medical assistance while three others are in stable condition.
