Man pleads guilty to raping stepdaughter

Kota Kinabalu: A 42-year-old man who raped his step-daughter, was jailed 15 years and ordered to get 10 strokes of the cane.The man changed his plea during the pre-trial case management and pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

He raped the 15-year-old girl between 8am and 10.30am on July 27, 2020 at a house in Ranau.
The offence under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between eight and 30 years, and whipping at least 10 strokes of the cane, on conviction.
The court ordered the man to serve the jail sentence from the date of his conviction.
In another court, a company was ordered to pay a fine of RM5,000 or two months’ jail for allowing an Indonesian without any document to stay in its premises.

Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz meted out the sentence to Hung Tai Enterprise (Sabah) Sdn Bhd after its representative pleaded guilty to the charge against the company.
The company was found permitting the 42-year-old Indonesian to stay in the company’s premises at Lokawi at 10.55am on June 27, 2019.

Meanwhile, a 61-year-old man was fined RM5,000 in default of two months’ jail for allowing an illegal immigrant to stay in his house.
Omar Ismail had allowed a 21-year-old Filipino to be in his premises at 2am on June 21, 2019 in a house at Jalan Naluyan, Mesapol Lama, Sipitang.
