Four held in Selangor after allegedly beating two workers for fasting

SHAH ALAM: Four individuals have been arrested for allegedly assaulting two male workers for fasting.
South Klang district police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli said police received a report at 4.16pm.

He said the two workers, believed to be bodyguards, were beaten on their backs with a cane, allegedly by their employer and another worker.
Shamsul said a preliminary investigation showed the incident happened at the employer’s home in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, where the two workers were scolded for fasting.
He said the employer also took a pistol from one of the victims and pointed it at them while threatening and insulting them.
He said the suspects would be remanded today to assist in the investigation.

Shamsul also said the case was not linked to any racial issue.
He advised the public not to share any statements on social media that could affect the harmony among races.
