Jokowi looks at expert input for new Capital
JAKARTA: President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo (pic) invited experts from a number of professionals to join the Authority Board of New Capital City. “To give recommendations related to planning and development of the country’s capital,” said National Development Planning Minister Suharso Monoarfa.

Suharso revealed the information after the President received representatives of seven professional associations at the State Palace. On that occasion, Jokowi ensured that everyone has the right to submit input or ideas related to the development of the new capital in East Kalimantan.

Jokowi and related ministers met with a number of experts from various scientific disciplines, such as architecture, urban planning, regional planning, and the environment.

During the meeting, Suharso said the state head listened carefully to all input from his guests for consideration. “The capital that we are going to build is a global city for all so that everyone should have the same opportunity to participate in even the slightest contribution including ideas,” he said in a press conference as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
