 Syabu: Man claims trial
Kota Kinabalu: A 43-year-old man claimed trial at the High Court here Wednesday to trafficking 1,122.1gm of syabu.

Azizul Pingkit pleaded not guilty before Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell to committing the offence at 4.45pm on Aug 5, 2020 at the roadside of Jalan Putatan-Kota Kinabalu, Lok Kawi.

Azizul was charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The charge is punishable under Section 39B (2) of the same Act carries the death sentence or imprisonment for life and whipping not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, upon conviction.

Azizul was ordered to be remanded further as the charge against him has no provision for bail.
