Kota Kinabalu: Sabah has one of the highest incidences of breast cancer in Malaysia, with 36.6 per cent having been detected with Stage Three and 15.6 per cent at advance stages, many of which are too late for treatment, according to Kinabalu Breast Cancer Support Association (Kinabalu Pink Ribbon).

Kinabalu Pink Ribbon, in a statement here, said many of these cases are preventable if not for cultural practices of traditional cures, pure ignorance, lack of awareness and inordinate long queue for medical access in most rural areas.
