Indonesian gets death for murder

SANDAKAN: A 34-year-old Indonesian who murdered his brother-in-law was sentenced to death by the High Court, here, Tuesday.

High Court Judge, Celestina Stuel Galid meted out the sentence to Abdul Rahman Haeruddin after ruling that prosecution had successfully proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.

Abdul Rahman  murdered his brother-in-law, Muhammad Pisal @ Rizal Daming, 40, also an Indonesian, at 4.30pm on April 1, 2018, AT Ladang 30 Ekar, Kampung Pahu, Sungai Lokan, Beluran.

The prosecution called 12 witnesses and the accused and a witness  testified during the defence stage.
