Tuaran: Quick action by firefighters
(pic) prevented a fire at the laboratory of a primary school in Kg Tambalang, here, from spreading to the entire building and other blocks, on Friday.
In the 8.30pm incident, the laboratory was almost completely destroyed, but no injuries or casualties were reported.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said they received a distress call at 8.37pm and deployed seven firefighters and two engines to the scene.
Upon arrival, the laboratory was already 60 per cent destroyed.
“The fire was brought under control at 9.06pm,” said Abdul Qawie, adding the cause of the fire and loss were under investigation.
