Concern on Japan radioactive pollution

Kota Kinabalu: NGO Greenpeace Japan is leading the global public opinion campaign against its government’s decision to release tons of radioactive contaminated water from the earthquake and tsunami damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the Pacific Ocean, that was praised by the United States’ State Secretary Antony John Blinken for transparency.

“In this unique and challenging situation, Japan has weighed the options and effects, has been transparent about its decision and appears to have adopted an approach in accordance with globally accepted nuclear safety standards,” said Ned Price, State Department spokesman.
