Fishing boat catches fire
Kota Kinabalu: Two foreigners jumped into the sea and swam ashore after their fishing boat caught fire behind the Sabah International Convention Center in Jalan Tanjung Lipat, near Sunday.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director Misran Bisara, said that an emergency call was received at 10.16am.

“Firefighters from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were mobilised along with several assets together with Operations Commander (PBK II) Saidi Siadek and Senior Operations Officer (TPgB I) Ordine Gilu.

“The fire involved a boat pump which was found submerged 200 meters from land and the two victims, saved themselves by swimming to the beach before being helped by firefighters ashore.
