Another missing person in Ranau possibly linked to flood situation

RANAU: Another missing person possibly linked to the flood situation that hit northern and interior Sabah has been reported, this time in Ranau.

Moijin bin Gamiyan, 65, from Kg Tinanom, has been reported missing by his daughter since Jan 1 after he went to Sg Keliu to check his fish traps.

District Police Chief DSP Simiun Lomudin said although there was no report of flooding in the village, the river was on the brink of overflowing following torrential rain since New Year’s day.

He said Sungai Keliu is one of the branches of the main Liwagu Kogibangan river whose water volume increased following nonstop rain.
