Mistakes were made, admits Hamzah over unvaccinated umrah travellers
An investigation is being carried out to determine how 10 Malaysians were allowed to travel overseas without getting vaccinated.
PETALING JAYA: The home ministry today admitted that mistakes were made by government agencies following reports that 10 Malaysians who were infected by the Omicron variant did not have any vaccination records.

Home minister Hamzah Zainudin said he will raise the matter with these agencies, Bernama reported.

Yesterday, the health ministry said the 10 had tested positive upon returning to the country.

The 10 were out of 17 Omicron cases who were found to have been unvaccinated. The remaining seven were foreigners.
