Kota Kinabalu: Six people claimed trial at the High Court, here, Friday, to drugs trafficking.
Mohd Haffiz Nizam Mohd Amin, 31, Suhendra Sundu, 33, Azrul Adjeran, 35, Abdul Razak Awg Said @ Ag Mohd Said, 53, Rahim Omar Mohd Nasirin, 46, and Hefyna Janon, 41, pleaded not guilty before Justice Amelati Parnell to the charges against them.
Businessman Haffiz and Suhendra, who were friends, were jointly accused of trafficking 2,114.7 gm of syabu at 2.50pm on July 1, 2021 by the roadside in front of the Posstore shop at Lorong Suria Inanam 3, Suria Inanam 3, Inanam.
Azrul, a labourer was accused of trafficking 67.89gm of syabu at 5.45pm on May 4, 2021, in front of the security guard kiosk at Taman Bakti Ikhlas, Inanam.
Self-employed Razak and Rahim, were jointly charged with trafficking 64.11g, of syabu at 11.30am on July 8, 2021 in a storeroom behind a house at Kg Pasir in Sipitang.
Meanwhile, Hefyna allegedly trafficking 63.85gm of syabu at 3.15pm on Feb 8, 2021 at the roadside of Raman Ridgeview Ph 12, Luyang here.
Each charge framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a punishment with either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
Amelati set Feb 17 for case management of Azrul’s Haffiz’s, Suhendra’s and Hefyna’s cases. Razak and Rahim would have their case management on Feb 18.
All accused were ordered to be remanded further as the charges against them has no provision for bail.

Haffiz and Suhendra were represented by counsel Hairul V. Othman, Azrul was represented by Mssrs SSU, Pitting and Partners, Razak and Rahim were defended by counsel Hamid Ismail while Hefyna was represented by counsel Ram Singh.
