Call to expedite KB road repair and upgrade

KOTA BELUD: Federal Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid is urged to speed up the repair and upgrading of Jalan Dudar-Taburon-Mandawang as stated in Parliament in December 2021.

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Sabah Supreme Council Member Ir Awang Saleh said the 14km road and located 45km from town is inhabited by residents which includes about 800 voters.

“We sympathise with the complaints voiced by the residents who stated that the road is in poor condition since the formation of the Federation of Malaysia,” he said, who is also the Deputy Chief Coordinator of Star Kota Belud.

Mandawang could not pass through the road and had to take the Kg Teringai road, Kota Marudu involving a journey of 80km to Kota Belud Town.

According to Ir Awang, his inspection of the road showed that the road was badly damaged and had large potholes.

“As the condition of the road has reached the attention of the federal minister, it is very appropriate that the project be started as early as this year without waiting until the middle or end of the year,” he said.

Ir Awang added, the Kg Sayap Road Upgrading Project with a distance of 19km also needs to be implemented together because the minister also touched on this project in Parliament in Dec 2021.
