Idris had reportedly said Muslims were banned from cleaning other places of worship, even during flood relief efforts.

He had also said carrying out such an act was akin to cleaning gambling outlets and discotheques, adding that temples were houses of the devil, The Vibes had reported.

Idris was said to have uploaded the video to his Facebook group titled “Ilmu Salaf Dot Com”.

GHRF chief S Shashi Kumar said more than 100 police reports had been lodged across the country against Idris’s remarks so far.

He called on the government to protect minority religions from being sullied and called for racial harmony laws to be enacted.
