Missing boy found drowned
Rescuers carrying the boy’s body out of the river.
BELURAN: A four-year-old boy reported missing last Saturday was found drowned around 9.50am in a river off Man Coon Estate, here, Monday.Beluran Fire and Rescue Station Chief PPgB Rastam Keladi said Mohd Ridwan Suprianto Mohd Aidil was reported missing while swimming in the river not far from his home.

“A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched on Saturday afternoon after the department was alerted at 5.15pm.
“His body was found stuck between tree branches near the riverbank some 1.5km from the location he was last seen,” he said.

Apart from the Fire and Rescue Department, personnel from the Civil Defence Force, police and villagers were also involved in the SAR around the river within a 1.5km radius.

The SAR operation was also assisted by a sniffer dog named Fluer, a Springer Spaniel. The boy’s body was later handed over to police for further action.
