Kuala Lumpur: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic) is still being treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN) and has interacted with members of his family.This was confirmed by his daughter, Datin Marina Mahathir, in a statement.

She also appealed all quarters to ignore rumours on the condition of her father.
“IJN and the family will issue a statement from time to time (on Dr Mahathir’s health),” she said.
On behalf of her mother, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and the rest of the family, Marina also thanked all the people within and outside the country who had prayed for her father’s recovery.
“Again, we thank all parties in and outside the country who had organised ‘doa selamat’ and Yassin recital ceremonies as well as people from other religions who had prayed for Dr Mahathir’s speedy recovery,” she said.

Marina had yesterday confirmed that the Pejuang founder had been admitted to IJN’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) since Thursday.
She also said her father was in stable condition.

Earlier this month, Dr Mahathir, 96, was admitted to IJN for an elective medical procedure.
Prior to that, he was admitted on Dec 16 for a full medical check-up and observation and discharged on Dec 22.
Dr Mahathir had previously undergone two heart bypass operations in 1989 and 2007.
