“The Committee, will focus on getting information on the condition of poor schools and unsafe schools in Sabah, including the safety of pupils and students when going to school.
“We will hold a meeting every two months to discuss and find solutions to the problems faced by schools, especially in rural areas,” he said in response to the ordeal of some pupils who risk their lives to walk on damaged hanging bridge in the interior of Sabah in order to go to the other side heading to their school, while some have to be crammed in a small boat without wearing safety jackets which could threaten their lives and some pupils have to climb a wall when roads are being upgraded.
Mohd Arifin said the committee including the State Assemblymen (Adun) in each area would take note of the situation faced by students in their areas and look for ways to resolve the problems.
“I will get information from the respective District Education Offices (PPD) to find out the real situation.
