Kota Kinabalu: Three men claimed trial at the High Court here Monday with drugs trafficking, respectively.
Mohd Sahril Saharuddin, 28, Mohd Aliff Aiman Mohd Nordin, 31, and Adzmel Mohammad, 36, who were brought separately before Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell, pleaded not guilty to the charge framed against them.
Sahril was accused of trafficking 477gm of cannabis at 8.40am on July 21, 2021, in front of the Nationwide Express Courier Services Sdn Bhd office, Block C, HS Commercial Centre in Penampang.
Aliff allegedly trafficking 232.45gm of cannabis at 3.10pm on July 7, 2021 in a house at Taman Austral, Jalan Kepayan Ridge, Kepayan here.
Adzmel was alleged to have trafficked 70.94gm of syabu at 4.50pm, on Oct 2019, at the parking lot, Block V, University Utama Condominium Telipok, Manggatal.
Each charge is framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952 which carries a punishment with either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes. The court set March 23, March 21 and March 3 for case management of Sahril’s, Aliff’s and Adzmel’s case, respectively.
They were also ordered to be remanded further as the charge against them has no provision for bail.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammed Ali Imran prosecuted while Aliff and Adzmel were represented by counsel Chen Wen Jye and PJ Perira, respectively.
