Kota Kinabalu: Another boarding school Covid-19 cluster has been found in Tawau as Sabah registered 314 new cases today, more than double yesterday's number.
The cluster named Jalan Sri Balung was found at SMK Balung, said an update shared by Sabah's spokesman for the crisis, Datuk Masidi Manjun.
ADVERTISEMENT The cluster's index patient was a Form-Four student-resident at the school, where close-contact screening found 17 more students positive for the virus. All 18 cases were either asymptomatic or had light symptoms.
Meanwhile, today's case count was 196 cases more than yesterday, a spike brought about by close contacts and new cases in existing clusters.
