KUDAT: A man who was reported missing after going fishing at Limau-Limauan Telaga on January 18, was apparently safe at his family member’s house.
Kudat Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ishak Jabas said following a three-day search and rescue (SAR) operation by various agencies, the man’s wife, Nor Jali, 54, called the Kudat Fire Station to inform that her husband is safe at a family member’s house in Kg Rosob, Pitas.
Ishak said, following the revelation, the SAR was terminated last Sunday.
“For three days, SAR operations at sea were conducted by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and the Marine Police Force (PPM) while firefighters together with the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) conducted SAR operations in coastal areas.
“The victim was reported missing last Thursday by the victim’s wife who said her husband did not return home after he went out fishing at Limau-Limauan Telaga in Kudat. SAR operation was activated for three days before the victim was reported to be safe in the home of a family member in Pitas on Sunday,” he said.
