KUDAT: The security forces have been ordered by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor to investigate claims of armed intruders in Lahad Datu.
He said State Commissioner of Police Datuk Idris Abdullah briefed him on the subject and that there was no evidence of the suspected intruders in Lahad Datu.
On Jan. 28, a group of armed foreign men allegedly infiltrated Lahad Datu through the waters of Long Patau in Tambisan, prompting Hajiji’s directive.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister urged the people to continue following the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) in light of the recent spike in new infections.
After recording less than 500 cases in the previous month, the number of Covid-19 cases in Sabah jumped to 1,209 on Saturday.
