Women urged to grab opportunity
SABAH women were urged to take full advantage of the assistance provided by the State Government in the 2022 State Budget to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including entrepreneurs.

Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag (pic) said the 2022 Sabah Budget saw the State Government allocating RM17.61 million to implement human capital development programmes for women, namely RM11.8 million to the Usaha Maju Foundation, and RM5.81 million to the Sabah Women Affairs Department.

She said the Federal Government has also allocated a financing fund of RM230 million, which includes the Women’s Special Business Financing Scheme programme under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) and Tekunita through Tekun Nasional (Tekun).

Juliah also urged them to grab any opportunity to participate in leadership programmes and entrepreneurship exhibitions to boost their knowledge and self-confidence to venture into business.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
She said such programmes could become platforms for women entrepreneurs in the State to improve their networking, as well as share their knowledge and experience.

“Subsequently, they can make beneficial use of facilities provided by the Government and financial agencies,” she said when opening the recent Woman Leadership and Entrepreneurs Showcase, which was held in conjunction with the Sabah International Business and Economic Summit 2022 (Sibes) in Kota Kinabalu.
