RANAU: A family of three cheated death after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded and plunged 30 metres down a ravine in a village, near here, early Monday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief Ridwan Mohd Taib said the incident happened in Kampung Sinarut Baru Ranau around 4.20am.
He said six personnel rushed to the scene located 6km from the station, led by Operations Officer PBK II Wasli Saupin, along with one FRT engine and an EMRS vehicle.
“Upon arrival, they found two of the three victims, aged between 50 and 61, sustaining minor injuries.
The other victim walked out unharmed. All of them were brought up to the road by the rescuers and given initial treatment.
“The injured victims were then sent to the Ranau Hospital using the EMRS and public vehicles,” he said, adding the operation ended at 5.18am.
