Kota Kinabalu: Police are looking for a man who was recorded on closed-circuit camera breaking into a residence in Luyang, here, Wednesday.
Initial findings showed that the tenant was inside the toilet when the 8am event occurred, according to City Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah.
After hearing knocks on the door, the tenant exited the toilet to check and noticed the stranger inside his house.
The tenant rebuked the burglar and inquired as to why he was in the residence, forcing the burglar to escape.
Footage from the closed-circuit camera shows the man entering the house compound and looking about before attempting to open the door and then peeping through the window panes.
The man then walked in after kicking the door open and shutting it behind him.
Upon closer assessment, the tenant discovered a Fossil watch and RM70 cash missing. Mohd Zaidi is urging anyone with knowledge to contact the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters at 088-529222 or the nearest police station to assist with the probe.
