TAWAU: Parti Warisan (Warisan) President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal said the struggle of the party is not only to take good care of the country but the people as well in terms of their economy, wellbeing and living.“The rights of people should be fulfilled and given to the people,” he said.
He said this after opening the Sri Tanjong Community Centre next to Xin On market, Jalan Sin On, Friday.
Also present were 120 new members from Tawau led by lawyer Chen Ket Chuin who submitted their membership forms to join Warisan.
“Many people have lost their jobs, many entrepreneurs were forced to shut down their business, hike in prices of essential goods and services, etc.…
“I hope that the party’s efforts can provide the best service to all people as well as overcome their problems to the grassroots.”
Asked if there are new members from Tawau and Kalabakan who joined Warisan, he said they were a lot.
“For Johor and Malacca, in particular, some of them were from DAP, MCA, Gerakan and even Umno.
Asked whether Justin Wong is joining Warisan, Shafie said:
“Let’s give him some time and trust him to have better steps.”
