Kota Kinabalu: A total of six couples decided to exchange vows on unique date, 22.02.2022, in simple ceremonies at the Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI), here.
The couples said they picked the date because it was very special and easy to remember, with the added bonus of being a lucky number worthy of celebration.
KKCCCI’s government-appointed assistant marriage registrar, Zhong Wanqiang, presided over the ceremonies.
Registration of the marriages was performed in strict adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan.
“Today’s date is unique and special, and happens to be the 22nd day of the first month of the lunar calendar, and also a Tuesday,” he said.
“Due to the current pandemic situation, SOPs must be strictly followed, and it is not suitable for large-scale ceremonies. Therefore, only six couples have registered their wedding at the KKCCCI premises,” he added.
