Hajiji orders heightened security during Philippine presidential election season
A General Operations Force trooper is on duty in the east coast. The Philippines' Sabah claim is always a hot election campaigning topic in the Philippines, says Hajiji.
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor said he has directed the police to heighten security in light of the upcoming Philippine presidential election.

He wanted the police to monitor the situation since the issue of the Philippines' claim over Sabah would always be a hot topic used by election candidates to gain support from voters.

Hajiji also directed the State Secretary to look into a land application to build a new base for the marine police in the city and for a General Operations Force base in Nabawan.
