PETALING JAYA: Doctors have confirmed that 13-year-old Revnesh Kumar’s death was not related to the Covid-19 vaccine he received.

Revnesh’s mother, Vijayarani Govindan, said the family received the preliminary post-mortem report today on the boy’s death.

“The report states that Revnesh died a sudden death as test results showed that his organs were all healthy and his body was not affected by the vaccine,” she said.

Revnesh was said to have vomited and collapsed on his way to a karate class on Jan 16. He was taken to Kajang Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had received his Covid-19 vaccine three weeks earlier.

Speaking to FMT, Vijayarani said the doctors had told the family that the autopsy report would take another week to be completed and the full medical report would take time.

The family had gone to Kajang Hospital at 2.30pm to receive the preliminary report on Revnesh’s death from Serdang Hospital forensic pathologist Dr Emizam Mohamadon. Also present was health minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s press secretary Raja Syahrir Raja Abu Bakar.

On March 4, Khairy met Revnesh’s parents and said the teenager’s tissue samples would be sent overseas for further testing.

However, the parents did not agree and said they wanted further tests to be conducted in Malaysia.

“We asked why couldn’t the tests be done here. We have many skilled doctors who are capable of determining our son’s cause of death.

“Khairy also assured us during the meeting that if we wished to have a second opinion, we could do so and he would be happy to assist,” she said.

She said the family would wait for the full autopsy report before deciding on the next course of action.

Earlier, Revnesh’s parents together with the Global Human Rights Federation (GHRF), Malaysian Tamilar Munetra Kalagam (MTMK) and several other NGOs gathered at the health ministry in Putrajaya to hand over a memorandum urging Khairy to be “truthful and transparent” on the investigation into Revnesh’s death.

The NGOs also highlighted several other issues, such as the vaccination consent form freeing the government from accountability, forced booster shots for Sinovac recipients, and the lack of an independent complaints body for affected victims.
