Sabah Rhinos emerge runners-up at 2022 MVL

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos finished second in the 2022 Malaysia Volleyball League (MVL) organised by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) at the Dewan Bola Tampar, which ended on Monday.

Despite the presence of Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy in the final to give his support, the team lost to Selangor Lion 16-25, 13-25, 9-25 and had to settle for the RM10,000 cash prize, but team member Mohd Asri Muharia was named the Best Spiker in the tournament.

The Rhinos, who were previously unbeaten since the start of the competition, had earlier booked their place in the final by beating Putrajaya Hawk 25-21, 20-25, 25-18, 25-13 in the last four on Sunday.

A total of eight teams took part in the six-day competition that offered a total cash prize of RM42,000 which started on March 8.
