Kota Kinabalu: A total of 485,939 persons out of 5.7 million newly registered voters aged 18 and above in Malaysia are Sabahans, said Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor.
He said the first additional electoral roll containing these individuals was gazetted on Jan 14.
"The implementation of voting-at-18 and automatic voter registration increased the number of registered voters from 15.3 million to 21 million as of Dec 31, 2021," said Hajiji in a statement today.
"...the number of registered voters in Sabah went up from 1,184,415 to 1,670,354."
