Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s new daily Covid-19 cases dipped to 234 on Saturday from 270 the day earlier, while one death was recorded in Tenom, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun. He said no new clusters were identified and there are only two active clusters left in Sabah to date, as the State Health Department closed the Bukit Langsat Cluster in Keningau on Saturday.
“The fall of cases in Penampang (-20) and Kota Kinabalu (-13) is the main factor of the overall decrease in Sabah’s caseload,” he said in a statement, Saturday, adding that sporadic infections also decreased to 50.85 per cent of the caseload.
Masidi said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 58 cases, followed by Sandakan (22), Papar (18), Penampang (18), Beaufort (18), Tuaran (16), Tawau (11) and Putatan (10).
“Beluran, Nabawan and Tongod did not record any new cases,” he added.
He said the majority of cases are mild, with 226 out of 236 being category one and two infections, while four are in category three, three in category four and one in category five.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, Masidi said a total of 3,966 individuals took their vaccines on April 1, of which 3,099 were adults, 84 teenagers and 783 children.
