Caution against bogus AIM reps
Kota Kinabalu: The Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) Sabah Region is advised not to be fooled by individuals disguising as AIM’s appointed representatives for any entrepreneur development projects.

AIM Sabah Regional Director Jahinin Siman said although no such problem has occurred so far, there was still a need to issue a warning to prevent it from happening.

He stressed that AIM has never appointed any party as the representative of the sole body for any development project as it violates existing rules and regulations.
“So far it has not happened but we only give an early warning as a precaution in case something like that happens in the future as many of us hear about scams such as ‘macau scam’ and so on.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
“It is my responsibility to prevent this from happening because I am worried that various fraudulent tactics will be used by irresponsible parties to get money from the community, especially AIM Sahabat members.

“Therefore, if there are any suspicious individuals, all Sahabat members can directly contact me for confirmation or the nearest AIM branch,” he said after completing the Penampang AIM Centre Head Workshop, here, Tuesday.

In another development, Jahinin expressed his appreciation to the Ranau District Council and Ranau District Office for their cooperation in establishing the AIM Ranau Tamu (farmer’s market) which is set to start on Saturday.

He said the initiative is seen to be able to help Sahabat AIM entrepreneurs in the area to market their products as well as generate their income.

“So far, we have implemented four AIM Tamu in Kota Belud, Tambunan, Labuan, Beaufort and most recently Ranau every Saturday, starting this Saturday.

“Realising our “1 district, 1 AIM Tamu” aspiration is made possible by cooperation of all parties. Our main purpose is to give our AIM Sahabat members the opportunity to do business,” he said.
