Kota Kinabalu: All mosques and suraus in Sabah registered under Sabah Islamic Affairs Department (Jheains) must be endowed via waqaf (giving land ownership for public benefit) to Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) for better management.

Special Tasks Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said it is imperative for the main committees of mosques and suraus to do so to ensure no problem arising in the future pertaining to land ownership.
