BEAUFORT: The Bukau Rural Health Clinic had to be relocated to the Lumadan Community Hall due to its proximity to the Pan Borneo highway project, said Lumadan Assemblyman Ruslan Muharam.

He said the clinic would have to be relocated and demolished, and he approved it with an immediate rate transfer to make it easier for people to access its services.

“I have also discussed this matter with the District Health Director,” he said at a press conference at the Ar Raudah Lumadan Mosque during the Breaking of Fast Ceremony and presentation of donations from the Lumadan Mosque and Surau.

According to Ruslan, the Bukau Health Clinic building was also in an unsafe condition for clinic staff and the general public to seek treatment and examination, so it had to be relocated to a new location.

“The clinic had to be demolished as well because it was on the Pan Borneo Project highway, and the lack of a health clinic will undoubtedly cause many problems in some villages.

“Following that, I met with community leaders in this area, and they agreed to relocate the clinic to the Kg Lumadan community hall.

“The Lumadan Assemblyman’s Office will also immediately upgrade the community hall to allow the Rural Clinic to be relocated,” he said, adding that the district Health Ministry has ample time to provide the necessary equipment for the Clinic.

Ruslan stated that it is expected to be completed soon, which is significant because it also provides services to pregnant mothers.
