Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) supports the Government’s intention for the return of business events by offering incentives to local MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences & exhibitions) organisers.
“Our stand is to give undivided support to the Sabah Government in its efforts to encourage the return of MICE events by offering incentives,” its MICE and Membership Vice-President Benjamin Lo (pic) said.
He said FSI members highly appreciated the recent announcement by Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai on the incentives.
With the encouragement of the Government, members are highly motivated to organise more local and international events, he said.
He said he would do his utmost to encourage members to take advantage of the incentives to help achieve the Government’s goals and objectives.
“We have to work closely with the Government to ensure speedy economic recovery in Sabah and Malaysia in general,” he added.
Joniston, who is also Sabah Tourism Board (STB) Chairman, recently called on the organisers to reach out to them for assistance in planning and holding major national and international conferences and other events.
He said constant engagement with STB is the key to ensuring that all players work in unison to prepare for the return of business events.
