Kota Kinabalu: Police statistics show a decline of up to 30 per cent in the crime rate during the various MCO phases under the Covid-19 pandemic measures.Blast fishing or fish bombing, however, was on the increase in Sabah waters, according to Stop Fish Bombing (SFB) Malaysia Executive Director Terence Lim who hopes to achieve the Fish Bomb Free (FBF) Sabah goal by 2031.

“Our aim is to end fish bombing along the entire Sabah coastline!” he stressed at a recent Borneo Forum on the negative impact of fish bombing on Sabah’s marine food chain, thus affecting food security in the long term.
